HEALTH PLAN EXPERTISE
Since 2014, Jamie Lagarde has been at the forefront of innovation in employer-sponsored healthcare. He specializes in designing and optimizing health plans for organizations that struggle to provide affordable, high-quality coverage for their employees.
Most recently, in 2023, Jamie rebuilt Goodwill Central Texas’ health plan from the ground up—delivering nearly $3 million in first-year savings compared to a major carrier’s HMO renewal option, while improving benefits and member experience.
Community Leadership & Service
Jamie Lagarde is a dedicated leader in the Austin business community with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations grow through smart strategy, teamwork, and innovation. In March 2022, he stepped in as Interim President and CEO of Goodwill Central Texas, after nearly a decade of volunteer service on the Board of Directors—including three years as Board Chair. Jamie has always been a strong supporter of Goodwill’s mission to empower people through education, career training, and work, and he’s proud to continue driving that mission forward.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Before joining Goodwill Central Texas, Jamie co-founded Sedera, a health care sharing plan designed to tackle the rising cost of health insurance for employers and individuals. By combining innovative plan design with values like personal responsibility, choice, and transparency, Sedera has helped companies lower costs while improving employee satisfaction. Jamie also brings expertise in technology, data analytics, and health informatics, giving him a unique perspective on solving complex challenges.

Education & Personal Life
Originally from New Orleans, Jamie earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and General Engineering from the University of Mississippi. He’s called Austin home for more than 25 years, where he and his wife are raising three energetic boys. When he’s not leading in the boardroom, you’ll often find Jamie out on the baseball field, cheering on or playing ball with his sons.
